Woven Perler Beads Craft

Learn how to weave your perler bead
collection into fun creations!!

Difficulty: medium
Tools: perler beads, needle, thread, scissors
Time: tedious; great if you need
something to distract your hands

1. Start by collecting your supplies. You'll need scissors, a needle, thread, and of course perler beads!

2. Then pick out your favorite colors. I chose a rainbow of pastel (lighter) colors, and white.

3. Next thread your needle, and make sure you have a lot. But you can always add on later if needed.

4. Thread your needle through your first bead, but don't go all the way through. Then make a knot so that it can't slip off.

5. Add more beads, and make sure it's an even number. ex. 2, 4, 6, 8,

6. This is where it gets a little tricky. But once you figure it out, the pattern makes so much sence. Thread on another bead to start the "second row" (white). And thread your needle through the second bead in the first row (yellow).
Do this again by adding a bead (blue), and threading your needle through the fourth bead in the 1st row (purple). Add a bead a bead (green) and through the 6th bead in the first row (white).
Then pull the string tight...
7. Flip it and repeat those steps. The pattern is the same as before. add a bead and thread through the 2nd (green), add a bead, thread through 4th (blue), add a bead, thread through 6th (white).
Pull it, and Flip it.
8. Continue the process until you have you desired length.
9. When your ready to finish the loop, connect the two sides, thread your needle back and forth, knot it, and your done!! There are so many ways to do this project so really have fun with this one! Here's a couple ways we did it...

 10. To find more examples, and variations I suggest searching "perler bead weaving" on pinterest, to find the best results. Here's a little sneak peek...
